Pastor Won-Seok Yuh

Pastor Won-Seok Yuh

Rev. Won-Seok Yuh

Pastor "Won" is most recently from the greater Los Angeles area, but had his pastoral call starting from Honolulu at the age of five. While his father was serving as an associate pastor at a UMC in Honolulu, Pastor Won was drawn to serve G-d and teach people about G-d as his father was doing.

Pastor Won started kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary School in Honolulu, and moved back to California to complete the rest of his formal education. Since then, he graduated from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, University of California in Riverside (UCR) with his B.A. in Biology with minors emphasizing in Music and Philosophy , and Claremont School of Theology (CST) with his M.Div. with strong interests in worship and music, honored with the Fellowship Award upon graduation.

Pastor Won loves to play music, take photos, cook meals, talk story, and share life. He welcomes lessons in ukelele, basketball, and all things aloha in Hawai'i.

Pastor Won has recently been commissioned in 2018 as a Provisional Elder in the Cal-Pac Annual Conference of the UMC (feel free to ask him what this means).

Pastor Won has been serving in local church ministries, Conference-wide events, and various Christian organizations since 2004, and continues to have strong interests in serving the community in Kahalu'u UMC through worship, social justice, and discipleship.

He is currently involved with the Hawaii District Acts of Repentance Task Force (working on reconciliation with Native peoples), Faith Action for Community Equity (FACE), Family Promise, Kahalu'u Elementary School, Hawai'i Walk to Emmaus, and Hawaii District Windward Hui.

Feel free to ask him any questions about Kahalu'u UMC or about himself from the Contact tab.
